Every stray deserves a happy belly

Feed A Stray is Vandana Kaparia's personal work to feed, treat, and care for stray dogs and cats in Rajasthan. She does this herself every day. It is not a shelter, NGO, or organisation run by anyone else.

Two ways to support her work:

What Vandana does for strays

Every day Vandana shows up for animals who have no one else. Here is what your support helps her provide.

  • Daily feeding

Vandana puts out meals on the streets of Jodhpur and coordinates daily feeding for animals back in Sri Ganganagar, where she grew up.

  • Medicine & treatment

Mange, wounds, infections, and illness. As a physician, she treats what she can and gets vet help when an animal needs more.

  • Two cities, one mission

Vandana lives in Jodhpur and cares for 15+ strays there herself. In her hometown Sri Ganganagar, 20+ animals are looked after by a small team she trained and supports from afar.

  • She funds it herself

For ten years Vandana has paid for food, medicine, and vet visits from her own pocket. She set up this page for friends and family who want to share the load with her.

Medical officer by day, stray-mama always

Vandana Kaparia is a BAMS graduate and Medical Officer with the Rajasthan government for the last 10 years, specialising in infertility care. Off duty, she still shows up every day for the strays who need her.

Her stray-care journey began in her hometown, Sri Ganganagar, not long after she brought Yuno home in 2014. For ten years she has been feeding, healing, and nursing injured dogs and cats on the streets. In 2026 she moved to Jodhpur and brought that same mission with her. The family of animals she cares for keeps growing.

Today Vandana personally feeds and treats 15+ strays in Jodhpur, where she lives. Back in Sri Ganganagar, a small team she trained looks after 20+ more animals every day. She still coordinates their food and medicine from Jodhpur. She has funded nearly all of this herself for a decade. She is sharing this page with people she trusts who want to help.

In Vandana's words

β€œYuno was my first pet. I brought him home in 2014, and he changed the way I see animals. He passed away in 2024, but I still carry him with me. The strays I feed now are part of what he taught me.”

From suffering to surviving

With food, medicine, and love, dogs who had lost nearly all their fur have grown back healthy coats. Three real before-and-after stories from animals Vandana has cared for.

What keeps them going

These supplies keep 35+ animals fed and treated across both cities.
